Yes, our Home is child friendly. There is plenty of space to run around and many indoor activities that will keep your children occupied. Since SaffronStays believes that holidays are about families bonding, we do not have a TV and limited WiFi in this Home. The home has instead been stocked with books and board games such as Life, Monopoly, Chess and other board games. There is also a basic first-aid kit, stocked with Dettol, band-aids, etc., for minor injuries. Parents are advised to be cautious when allowing kids to run around. Kid-friendly menus (pastas, cornflakes, Bournvita milk, etc) are also available. These would need to requested in advance, preferably at the time of booking. In the case of infants, mothers will be permitted to use the kitchen to prepare their meals.
The Address: SaffronStays Mocha Chalet is approximately a 4.5 hour drive from Bangalore. Alternatively, one could catch a bus to Chikmangalur town and use local transport to reach the property. It takes approximately 30 mins to reach the property from Chikmangalur.
Yes, our home is senior citizen/elderly friendly. The home has 2 bedrooms on the ground floor which are easily accessible by seniors. Both the rooms have private bathrooms, again easy to access at night without any supervision. All our bathrooms have anti-skid surface. Upon special request, our caretakers can prepare Low Salt/ Low Spice/ Low Fat/ Low Sugar for senior citizens. These requests should be informed at the time of booking. In case of a medical emergency, the caretaker has the numbers for doctor-on-call or ambulance service-on-call. The home is ambulance accessible.
Yes, our home is wheelchair accessible. There are ramps right up to the home. There are also hand railings for support.
No, We do not allow pets at our property. The property lies on the outer periphery of Bhadra wildlife sanctuary and we have a lot of territorial animals around our homes.

Yes, we do allow events/shoots at the villa, subject to Home Owner's approval. Meals can be arranged at an additional cost (per person, per day). Please note that a maximum of 6 people can be accommodated in the Estate for an overnight stay. Access to the pool will be subject to home owner's approval. Depending on the event and its requirements, a refundable deposit and additional charges may be applied. Please note that loud music (if needed for your function) will only be permitted during certain hours. Any other permissions required for photo shoot/functions will need to be taken by the guests themselves. All of the rooms have been furnished with All-out machines and mosquito nets have been placed over the windows. Guests are advised to shut the windows by 5.30 / 7.30 pm to avoid mosquitoes. If needed, the caretaker has Odomos on site.
Food and Beverages
Meals are provided onsite and is chargeable. Breakfast, Evening Snacks and Dinner to charged at Rs. 600 (Per Adult) and Rs. 300 (Per Child - Below 12). Lunch will be charged at an additional cost from a local restaurant at actuals. You will need to inform the caretaker in advance about your meal preferences. Meal timings are as follows: Breakfast - 8 am to 10 am Dinner - 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm Tea/Coffee will be served during breakfast and evening tea time. If you would like tea/coffee during the day, this will be arranged at an additional charge. Please note that meals are not permitted in the room and that the kitchen shuts at 10 pm every night. If there is another guest at the property, please adjust your meal timings with the caretaker and respect the privacy of other guests.
We offer simple home cooked meals. There is a standard menu available. You can inform the caretaker in advance about your meal preferences (veg/non-veg), specific dietary requirements, etc. There is also a facility for barbecues onsite (both veg/non-veg).

Yes, alcohol consumption is permitted within limits. There is ample ice stocked in the fridge. Snacks and other beverages can be arranged if advance notice is given to the caretaker. This amount will need to be paid to the onsite host/caretaker in cash, at the end of your stay.

Children up to the age of 3 shall not be charged for meals. Children in the age group 3-6 shall be charged Rs 500 per day.
A Guest is entitled to a refund of 75% if he/she cancels the confirmed booking upto 15 days before the Date of Check-In (before 1 PM). A Guest is entitled to a refund of 50% if he/she cancels the confirmed booking upto 7 days before the Date of Check-In (before 1 PM) If the Guest cancels within 7 days of the Date of Check-In, he/she is entitled to no refund.
Unfortunately, there is no option for part payment. Guests are required to pay 100% of the payment before check-in.
Once you have chosen your dates and your booking has been accepted, you will receive a payment link where the payment can be processed. In case you're unable to make an online payment through the link, you could also deposit the cash in our bank account directly. We also offer other options like PayTM, NEFT/IMPS or UPI.
All additional payments (such as extra meals, pet charges, etc.) will have to be paid to the caretaker onsite in cash at the end of your stay. In special circumstances, we do accept these payments through PayTM.
Security deposit is to be paid two days prior to check-in. If no damages are observed, the deposit will be returned during check-out itself or by NEFT within 5 business days after check-out.
