Cancellation Policy

SaffronStays allows hosts to choose among three cancellation policies (Flexible, Moderate and Strict). The policies have been designed to protect the interests of both guest and host alike.

In all cases, Guest Fees paid/payable to SaffronStays will be non-refundable.A nominal cancellation fee of 5% shall be levied for processing refunds by SaffronStays. This is primarily levied to cover payment gateway charges and a minimal processing charge. Service tax at applicable rates will be charged on this cancellation fee.

Each listing and reservation made on our site will clearly state the applicable cancellation policy. Guests are requested to read and understand the cancellation policies and the refund policy applicable before making a booking. Guests may view their travel plans in Dashboard > Your Trips and then click 'Cancel' on the appropriate reservation.

  Flexible: Full refund 1 day prior to check-in, except GuestFees
  • A Guest is entitled to a full refund if he/she cancels the confirmed booking upto 24 hours before the start of the reservation.
  • If the Guest cancels less than 24 hours before start of the reservation, the charge for the first night is non-refundable. For remaining nights, 100% of the Accommodation fee and cleaning fees are refunded.
  • A reservation is considered officially 'canceled' ONLY when the guest clicks the cancellation button on the cancellation confirmation page, which they can find in Dashboard > Your Trips > Cancel
  • Guest Fees paid/ payable to SaffronStays are non-refundable
  • If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to SaffronStays within 24 hours of check-in. SaffronStays will mediate when necessary and Guest and Host are required to extend their full co-operation. SaffronStays has the final say in all disputes.
  • A nominal cancellation fee of 5% shall be levied for refunds processed by SaffronStays. This is primarily levied to cover payment gateway charges and minimal processing charges. Service tax at applicable rates will be charged on this cancellation fee.
  • If the guest checks-in and decides to leave early, any refund of the accommodation fee and cleaning fee will be decided and settled between the Guest and the Host directly. SaffronStays will not facilitate this settlement process. No cancellation fee will be charged for such refunds.

For a full refund of accommodation and cleaning fees, cancellation must be made a full 24 hours prior to listing's local check in time (or 3:00 PM if not specified) on the day of check in. For example, if check-in is on Friday, cancel by Thursday of that week before check in time.

If the guest cancels less than 24 hours before check-in, the first night is non-refundable. Accommodation and cleaning fees for remaining nights are refunded 100%.

If the guest checks-in and decides to leave early, Host and Guest to mutually decide and settle refund amount.

  Moderate: Full refund 5 days prior to check-in, except Guest Fees
  • A Guest is entitled to a full refund if he/she cancels the confirmed booking upto 5 days before the start of the reservation.
  • If the Guest cancels less than 5 days before start of the reservation, the charge for the first night is non-refundable. For remaining nights, 50% of the Accommodation fee and cleaning fees are refunded.
  • A reservation is considered officially 'canceled' ONLY when the guest clicks the cancellation button on the cancellation confirmation page, which they can find in Dashboard > Your Trips > Cancel.
  • Guest Fees paid/ payable to SaffronStays are non-refundable

If the guest checks-in and decides to leave early, Host and Guest to mutually decide and settle refund amount.

  Strict: 50% refund 15 days prior to check-in, except Guest Fees
  • A Guest is entitled to a refund of 50% if he/she cancels the confirmed booking upto 15 days before the start of the reservation.
  • If the Guest cancels less than 15 days before start of the reservation, he/she is entitled to no refund.
  • A reservation is considered officially 'canceled' ONLY when the guest clicks the cancellation button on the cancellation confirmation page, which they can find in Dashboard > Your Trips > Cancel.
  • Guest Fees paid/ payable to SaffronStays are non-refundable
  • If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to SaffronStays within 24 hours of check-in. SaffronStays will mediate when necessary and Guest and Host are required to extend their full co-operation. SaffronStays has the final say in all disputes.

For a 50% refund of accommodation and cleaning fees, cancellation must be made a full 15 days prior to listing's local check in time (or 3:00 PM if not specified) on the day of check in. For example, if check-in is on Friday, cancel by Tuesday of the previous week before check in time.

If the guest cancels less than 15 days before check-in, no refund is given to the Guest.

If the guest checks-in and decides to leave early, Host and Guest to mutually decide and settle refund amount.

  Cash on Arrival

If a Host or the Guest opts (if Host has allowed this choice to the Guest) for a 'Cash on Arrival' option for payment, the Accommodation fee and Cleaning charges are collected by the Host at the time of check-in at the Listing itself. These are not collected by SaffronStays at the time of booking. At the time of booking, only Guest fee is collected by SaffronStays.

In such a case, cancellation policy selected by the Host does not apply. Guest Fees paid/ payable to SaffronStays are non-refundable.

  Cancellation after six months of booking request

If a Guest cancels a booking six months after the booking has been made, a travel credit will be effected for the balance amount due and no refund amount would be processed through the payment gateway.

This policy applies irrespective of the cancellation policy applicable and only for non-cash transactions.
