Yes, we do allow events/shoots at the villa, subject to Home Owner's approval. Meals can be arranged at an additional cost (per person, per day). Please note that a maximum of 11 people will be accommodated in the villa for an overnight stay. Depending on the event and its requirements, a refundable deposit and additional charges may be applied. Any permissions required for the event will need to be taken by the guests themselves. Can I reserve your Home for a few weeks for a Film or a Photo or an Advertisement shoot?

No, this villa does not allow reservations for professional shoots.

Are children charged separately?

Children upto 6 years of age shall not be charged accommodation fees. Children between 6-11 years shall be charged Rs 750 for accommodation. Guests can ask the caretaker for extra mattress if need be, and shall have to pay on site itself.

Can I book only one or two rooms, or do I need to book the entire Home?

In case you book one room, you get to stay in a treehouse. If you book two rooms, you get to stay in the main home. You get the entire place if you book all 4 rooms.

What is the type of cuisine served?

We offer simple home cooked meals. There is a standard menu available. Pastas and soups can be prepared, if given advance notice. Additionally, there are barbecue facilities available for both veg/non-veg.

Is outside food allowed? Are we allowed to cook ourselves?

Yes, outside food is allowed. The caretaker will have food menus of nearby restaurants available. Guests are not permitted to use the kitchen. However, mothers of small infants and toddlers will have limited access to boil milk or prepare simple food.

Do you allow us to stock things in your fridge?

Yes, guests can use the fridge to store food/beverages.

Can I pay the caretaker some extra money and request the Cook to prepare fish or mutton dishes for us?

Yes. Please note that this will be subject to availability of ingredients. Payment for actuals, cooking, cleaning etc. will need to be paid to the caretaker in cash at the end of your stay.

Is there an adequate drinking water supply? Do we need to carry our own Mineral Water bottles or are these readily available at your villa?

Yes, we have a steady water supply. However, guests are requested to use the hot water judicially as we have a Solar water heater with a maximum capacity of 200 liters. During the monsoons, guests are provided with hot water in buckets.

What are the Check-in & Check-out timings? May I request for late check-outs or an early check-in?

Check-in time at 1 pm and check-out time is 10 am. Please note that check-out timings are strict as we need to ready the rooms for our next booking. Guests are requested to respect the timing of other guests as well. In case you wish to check in a little early or check out a little late, do inform us at the time of booking. Additional charges will be applied.

How do we reach your villa by public transport?

There are regular state transport and private buses from Mumbai/Pune to Panchgani. Cabs are available from Panchgani bus stop to the property. They charge Rs. 200 for a one-way trip. Please connect the cab driver to the caretaker of the property for accurate directions. The nearest airport is Pune Airport.

How and when do I pay for the Security Deposit and how and when is it returned to me?

Security deposit of Rs. 10,000 is to be paid two days prior to check-in. If no damages are observed, the deposit will be returned during check-out itself or by NEFT within 5 business days after check-out.

How many extra mattresses can be provided?

Upto 3 extra mattresses can be provided.

What type of beds, mattresses do you have?

Each bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed and the bedsheets, pillow covers are changed every third day.

Do you provide toiletries and bath towels?

Yes, we provide basic hand wash, soaps, shampoos bath & hand towels for up to 6 people.

Is the Home air-conditioned?

Yes, all the bedrooms in our villa are air-conditioned. There is no AC in the tent.

Is there Internet/ 3G/ WiFi connection available onsite?

Yes, the home has wi-fi internet.

Does the villa face frequent power outages? Are there any invertors or gensets to address this issue?

Please Note: Panchgani experiences load shedding by MSEB every Tuesday, between 9am - 6pm. The home is in a rural area of Maharashtra, powered by MSEB. In case of disruption of power due to fluctuation, we have a backup inverter installed. However, this backup power does not support ACs or Geysers, and will also burn out beyond 4 hours of usage. Our homes are environment friendly, and we push our guests to be too. Please use electricity optimally at all times. The pleasant monsoon and oncoming winter season do not require any extreme cooling appliances. .

Is there a security guard / watchman?

No but this is a fenced property. The local caretaker manages security.

Are the premises monitored using CCTVs?

No, there are no CCTV cameras installed.

Can stray dogs enter the premises?

No, the home is within a fenced area. However, should a stray dog enter, inform the caretaker and he will address the issue.

Is the property properly fenced? Is there a boundary wall?

Yes, the property is properly fenced. However, guests are requested to be cautious as the home is perched on a hill overlooking the valley. Safety railings have been placed, as a precaution.

Verandah by the Valley is very close to Table Land, Parsi Point. Panchgani itself is a 5 hour drive from Mumbai. If you're travelling by public transport, there are direct state transport buses available from Mumbai. The closest railway station is Satara which is approximately 34 kms from Panchgani. In Panchgani, take a left at Shivaji chowk towards the table land. Then, instead of the next turn towards the tableland, take the 2 nd left towards the village Ghodawali. At Ghodawali, take the road going through the village towards Kaleshwari temple. Take a left at the temple. The dirt road leads directly to the home.

Is this home child-friendly?

Yes, our Home is child friendly. We have a lot of open space and an organic farm to keep kids occupied. Alternatively, the villa has been stocked with books, board games & playing cards. Please note that the villa opens out into the entire Panchgani Valley. While we have installed safety railings, guests are requested to be cautious around kids. There is a first aid kit available for minor injuries. Kid-friendly menus (pastas, cornflakes, Bournvita milk, etc) can also be prepared if given advance notice (preferably at the time of booking).

Is this home senior citizen friendly?

No, the home is not senior citizen friendly as guests have to climb down 15 steps to get from the parking level to the main house. However, the living room, bedrooms, dining area and verandah are all at the same level.

Is the villa wheelchair accessible?

No, this villa is not wheelchair accessible.

Is the place pet-friendly?

No, pets are not allowed in this villa. Please note that there is a pet dog already present on the property. Rest assured, he won't disturb your stay. Pets are not allowed in the pool.

What can we do for fun around the property?

There is a strawberry farm within walking distance from the villa. Additionally, guests could visit Tableland, Parsi Point, Dhom Dam & Kamalgad Fort. The best time to visit is just before sunset. Guests can also visit Horizon Point for Tandem paragliding. For the shoppers, Panchgani market is approximately 3 kms from the villa.

There are no pool facilities available.

Is there a beach close by and is it clean and safe?

There are no beaches close to this property.

Are there water bodies nearby (such as a pond/ river/ lake etc)?

The nearest water body is the Nagewadi dam, 11 kms from the property. Lingmala Waterfall is approximately 17.2 kms away, but has flowing water only during monsoon and for a little while after that.

Evenings are best spent on the rooftop terrace, as the lights of the villages in the valley shimmer below, and the stars glimmer above.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, there is separate accommodation with a washroom available for up to 2 assistants (driver/ domestic help) at an additional charge of Rs. 500 per night. Meals will be charged at Rs. 250 per meal and will need to be paid to the caretaker in cash at the end of your stay. If drivers are travelling with you, please mention this to our Booking Assistance team.

Breakfast is inclusive in the tariff. Meals are available at Rs 300 (veg) and Rs 400 (chicken) and Rs 500 (mutton) per person, per meal and for children are Rs 300 per child, per meal. The caretaker can also organize a barbecue on the rooftop terrace. This costs Rs. 500 for 4 people, with the raw materials being charged at actuals. Please indicate your meal preferences in advance to allow our caretaker to procure the same. Meals for kids below 5 years are complimentary. The meal charges are payable in cash to the caretaker at site. Tea/Coffee will be served during breakfast. If you would like tea/coffee at any other time of the day, it can be arranged at an additional charge.

Given the location and surroundings of our home, playing loud music is allowed within limits and during specific hours.

The roads around Panchgani are slightly rough but cars can be driven right up to the property. The last patch of the road is a muddy road which can get slushy during the rains, so guests are advised to use sturdy cars. Guests are advised to check the road and weather conditions before heading out for a road trip.
