The home is in a rural area of Maharashtra, powered by MSEB. In case of disruption due to fluctuation, we have a genset which burns out beyond 6 hours of usage. So, it will be turned off after every 2 hours for 30 minutes in order for it to be used throughout the day.
It was a very nice experience, the villa is quite well maintained and managed. The caretaker Santosh was very helpful and accommodating. I look forward to visiting this place again Thank you for your hospitality🙂
The house is a brilliant property. Perfect for a family time without any distraction. The interior are excellent and exquisite. The house host, Santosh and his family are very good, efficient and warm people. Rejoicing experience overall!!
We had a lovely stay. Santosh & family cooked amazing food and took very good care of us. Loved the furniture and the property. A perfect getaway from the city.
It was a lovely stay very quiet, clean and friendly. The food was amazing we enjoyed the trip a lot.
Richard Parsi Manor is a peaceful and beautiful old home full of antiques and charming original features all lovingly looked after. The verandah is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature whilst gazing out over the leafy garden (motor vehicles are prohibited in Matheran). The comfortable and quiet bedroom is a great place to rest. Mr Santosh is a welcoming host and his wife, Ms Kunda, prepares delicious home made meals served in the Manor's atmospheric dining room (some of the best food we’ve had in India). We’ve really enjoyed our stay here and are sad to leave. Very highly recommended.
Beautiful Heritage Villa, nestled in green and scenic surrounding. Very Well maintained. Impeccable service. Finger licking delicious food.
Very well maintained. Loved the manor. The caretakers are great. A little away from the main market but situated in a very peaceful area.
An exceptional property, maintained beautifully. Santosh, the caretaker was a great host. Definitely worth it!
We had an absolutely lovely time at the Parsi Manor. Not only is the property beautifully maintained and restored, the owners have made the effort to share the property's vibrant history. Santosh the caretaker was extremely hospitable and ensured we had a comfortable stay. Also don't miss out on the authentic Parsi food provided.
We stated at the parsi manor or Keki bunglow as it is also known on 27/28 May.The property is close to market at the same time tucked away from the hustle bustle .Beautiful colonial country cottage having an old world charm it's a great place to stay if you don't want to literally do anything.A break from city habits,no tv,no pool n loud music are a blessing The caretaker Santosh n his wife are very polite, humble couple who settle you down comfortably. The rooms are clean, the sheets, covers, toilets quite scrupulous. Food is excellent homely affair .We had 3 kids with us so we were wanting homestyle food .the caretaker also asks your choice so that they can arrange fresh produce from local market Although I felt that price of a meal per person was little high didn't mind spending because of quality n service Looking forward to staying again next time.
We spent a night at this villa and it was nice. The caretakers were warm and friendly. Food was good. Location is great. Cleanliness was excellent!
Nature at its best at keki villa. Rooms/cleanliness/In house food/Staff (Mr Santosh and his wife/ surroundings are 100% perfect. Mind blowing food was served throughout our stay with best hospitality. One of a kind place and a must visit for all the nature lovers away from the noisy market/tourists. We celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary in a perfect style. Thank you Saffron Stay/ Mr marker for the beautiful villa. We be there again for sure.
The Parsi Manor was a lovely place to visit and definitely one of the more tranquil places to stay in Matheran. Getting to the property wasn't difficult, almost a 45 minute walk from the car park. Once we reached, the caretaker Santosh did a splendid job of helping us settle in. He was warm and friendly, helping us whenever required. The rooms themselves were large and spacious. All the tourist points are rather close to the lodge, and the market is nearby as well. Santosh and his family were excellent at hosting. They prepared delicious food for snacks, dinner and breakfast. The aloo paranthas and puranpoli are an absolute must have. We were treated to a lovely show by the monkeys in the area and it was super entertaining to watch them for the better part of an hour. We were out on the verandah for hours, which was a welcome way to wind down. About the pricing - It does seem excessive considering the facilities. There is already space for three people in each room - so charging extra
Stayed at the Parsi Manor in Jan 2017. It's a nice little place in crowded Matheran. Tucked away in a corner, it is nice to be away from the main market street and the array of lodges & hotels. The place is good and the caretaker Santosh does a fine job. The meals were home cooked and we enjoyed it. The accommodation is nice but basic, in keeping with the old world charm. Cons - Getting to Matheran itself is a bit of a hassle considering the train doesn't ply anymore and I travelled with a kid and senior citizens. You have to park your car and walk up the hill for around 45 min. There are alternate modes of transport also available - horses, hand Riskshaws etc. - Price : I have stayed at a few Saffron Stays, Airbnb accommodations now and felt this was a bit pricey.
Excellent place! This is really what we needed to get a break from Mumbai. Very well maintained rooms. Very warm, courteous and efficient staff. Simple but very delicious homely food. Would recommend this to everyone.
As promised, Parsi Manor was the island of peace and tranquility that I so longed for! The bungalow is very charming and the caretaker and his wife were very helpful to our needs. The food was excellent and tasty. I spent an idyllic three days in Matheran with my family and it was the most wonderful holiday in recent times. As monsoon was on the verge of withdrawal, we got excellent weather without much heavy rain. As most scenic points are at a fair walking distance from here, we also had the added pleasure of roaming around aimlessly in the hill station. Overall a wonderful experience! Would love to visit again with a larger group of friends.
Parsi manor aka Keki lodge is a wonderful place to stay in Matheran. When we reached Matheran, it was raining cats and dogs and we reached the place rain soaked. I really liked how the room was built to handle such situations. The rooms are big and comfortable. The verandah is nice to chill and relax. The caretakers are very sincere. The food is quite nice and homely. The location is sufficiently away from the market and not too far also. Overall we had a very pleasant stay here.
Ms. Tejasvini (who was coordinating with us on behalf of Saffron Stays ) could be a little warmer. Follow-up was quite regular till the money was paid and thereafter Tejasvini was hardly responsive. As a result, got too many calls from her in the two days we were staying there. This could have been avoided if she could have responded to my query before we started the trip.Caretakers of the property are sweet couple. Though I understand that its a home-stay, given the price, we could at least have been provided with a clothes iron and hair dryer. Overall, I thought the price is very steep for the property, more particularly the rate for the extra person is exorbitant. Would suggest that cancellation policy be made more flexible.
Hii.. I am really glad to say that I made a decision to select Parsi Manor as our weekend destination. The place is amazing, This 100 years old banglow left me spechless, Host "Santosh and his wife" I have to admit these people are amazing, alwayz with a smile on face they serve.. great food, Just like home. I specially wanted to experience a cup of tea siting in a veranda which i have read on the page of saffronstays and trust me it was exactly the same what i read. Me and my partner we wanted to visit this place again. "Santosh and his wife" keep the good work guys... With Love: Vaibhav & Nancy :))
It was a wonderful stay at Parsi Manor. The dinner and the breakfast was amazing. Santosh, the caretaker was very humble and helpful. The weather was amazing and was worth a stay there.
My stay turned out to be just as I expected and was even more happier that you were considerate with my late check-out. Santosh & his wife were nothing short of ideal hosts and made us feel at home. The meals were simply finger-licking good, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Tejaswinee was very helpful all along right from the point of our booking until check-out. The manor and its premises have been maintained well and the interiors are real dreamy. Thank you for the experience. Only one suggestion - I could not locate the Manor mainly because I was looking for a sign board that pointed out to where Parsi Manor / Saffron Stays. There were no sign boards nor was the resort known by the name. Although, the mail I received may have mentioned this but I overlooked it and was hoping to find Parsi Manor. Suggestion being if there would be some way to place a board visible and indicating the location. Thank you & regards, Kiran Rao
Very Pleasant Stay..
Wonderful experience. Feels like home. Perfect destination to hibernate. Loved it.
we had an awesome stay at the parsi manor last weekend.. although it was very hot in mumbai.. the manor and matheran were surprisingly cool. away from the hustle and bustle of matheran, situated in a shady wooded area.. the parsi manor is a beautiful , well decorated and very well kept colonial bungalow.. the rooms are very spacious with clean and large bathrooms.. the bed linen is unlike what you may find in hotels.. but what you would find in your home.. too good to sleep in.. the rooms and bathrooms smell too good as they have lovely candles lying all around.. the best part of the manor is the large verandah.. where in you have a front row seat to the hustle of forest life.. with monkeys crossing over our roofs and the garden through out the day.. and cicadas buzzing through out the morning.. and lots and lots of butterflies.. and amazing birds.. i am sue you would not leave your seat.. we spent hours watching and listening.. and did not want to get up. this was so peacefully divine
This was best air bnb experience ever. Beautiful house, amazing home made kitchen. Host family will take care of you as if you were a king. If you stay at Matheran this is your place.
The place transformed us into a bygone era. The house and the rooms are very well-maintained and have an old world charm. If one would like to live in an 19th century house in Matheran then this should be the first option. The caretaker was present to welcome us and was always polite and courteous . We had lunch there and the food was like very good home made Indian food. Overall a great experience
Parsi Manor was a beautiful place tucked away in a quiet corner, yet easily accessible. We went with friends and family for new years and had a wonderful stay there. It's a heritage structure which has been maintained very well with the comforts of modern amenities. The care taker family were very welcoming and made our stay was comfortable. Food was simple, home cooked and tasty. It is well located and we enjoyed long walks from the Manor. There is ample place for the kids to play around. It has something to offer to everyone in the family. We see ourselves going back to this place!
One of the best finds for us. The house and the rooms are very well-kept. The caretakers - Santosh and Kunda were always there to help and the best part - always smiling. The weekend away was enhanced by the beautiful property and amazing surroundings. Definitely a place to visit if you want peace and quiet. Add to that, the market is also accessible as it is less than a km away.
Staying at the Parsi Manor at Matheran was very good experience. The bungalow is nice and the room we stayed was neat and clean. The caretaker family was very well behaved and helpful. It was nice to see such hospitality. The place is only 15-20 mins walking distance from Matheran railway station and is very accessible.
A very nice heritage property adorned with beautiful antique furniture. There is ample space for 2-3 families to get together for a relaxed weekend.
