Is the villa suitable for a day picnic?

Yes, the home has a garden/lawn area within the premises that could be used for outdoor picnic activities. Meals will be provided on site at an additional charge (per person, per meal). Please note that the maximum capacity for an overnight stay is 12 people. 

During the day, guests will be allowed to use the washrooms and other amenities at the villa. The home is also stocked with indoor games like UNO and playing cards, monopoly, chess, badminton, snakes and ladder, etc.

Depending on the event, you are allowed to erect a small stage, stall or tent for your event purpose.

Can I reserve your place for special functions such as engagement ceremony, a small wedding ceremony or a birthday party, etc?

Yes, we do allow events/shoots at the villa, subject to Home Owner's approval. Meals can be arranged at an additional cost (per person, per day). Please note that a maximum of 12 people can be accommodated in the villa for an overnight stay. 

Access to the pool will be subject to home owner's approval. Depending on the event and its requirements, a refundable deposit and additional charges may be applied. Please note that loud music (if needed for your function) will only be permitted during certain hours. Any other permissions required for photo shoot/functions will need to be taken by the guests themselves.

Can I reserve your Home for a few weeks for a Film or a Photo or an Advertisement shoot?

Can I book only one or two rooms, or do I need to book the entire Home?

There are 2 single beds in the outhouse where up to 2 people can be accommodated, depending on availability. Charges for the same are Rs 500 per person, per night. This does not include meals. Additional charges for meals to be paid to the caretaker onsite, in cash.

Accommodation for domestic help is available. There are 2 single beds in the outhouse where up to 2 people can be accommodated, depending on availability. Free parking is available onsite (in a covered parking area) for 2 cars. There is also a public car park outside the gate.

Accepted Answer

The tariff includes breakfast ONLY. Lunch and dinner can be availed at an extra cost of Rs 250 (veg) and Rs.300 (non-veg) per head, per meal.
The meal charges are payable in cash to the caretaker at site. 
Fish and mutton preparations shall be charged extra, at actuals. Please inform in advance, to allow our caretaker to procure the same as it is available in rural areas only on Wednesday and Sunday.

Tea/Coffee will be served during breakfast and afternoon tea time. If you would like tea/coffee during the day, this will be arranged at an additional charge. 

Please note that meals are not permitted in the room and that the kitchen shuts at 10 pm every night.  If there is another guest at the property, please adjust your meal timings with the caretaker and respect the privacy of other guests.

No, unfortunately we do not allow outside food for this property.

Can I pay the caretaker some extra money and request the Cook to prepare fish or mutton dishes for us?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Fish and mutton preparations shall be charged extra, at actuals which are payable in cash to the caretaker onsite. Please note that this will be subject to availability of ingredients.

Do you allow us to stock things in your fridge?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can use the common fridge to store food/beverages. In case there are other guests on site, please adjust and use the common fridge accordingly.

Is there an adequate drinking water supply? Do we need to carry our own Mineral Water bottles or are these readily available at your villa?

Accepted Answer

Yes, there is a steady water supply along with aqua-guard. If you wish to consume only sealed bottled water, please inform the caretaker of the same and pay him for the actuals on site, in cash.

What are the meal charges for children?

Breakfast is inclusive in the tariff. The meal charges for children are Rs 250 (veg) and Rs 300 (non-veg) per child, per meal.
The meal charges are payable in cash to the caretaker at site.

Do you allow loud music?

Accepted Answer

Given the location of our home, playing loud music is allowed within limit till 10PM. We have speakers with a USB port onsite, so you could attach your phone, pen-drive to the music system.

Guests are requested to respect our neighbors and keep the noise level mild and within the villa.

Is alcohol consumption permitted?

Alcohol consumption is permitted within limits. We do not encourage late night revelry or loud music.

What are the Check-in & Check-out timings? May I request for late check-outs or an early check-in?

Check-in time at 1 pm and check-out time is 10 am. Please note that check-out timings are strict as we need to ready the rooms for our next booking. Guests are requested to respect the timing of other guests as well. In case you wish to check in a little early or check out a little late, do inform us at the time of booking. Additional charges will be applied. Late check-out charges includes meals (lunch).

What formalities are needed during check-in and check-out?

As required by law, all adults have to provide their government-approved Photo IDs (that clearly show their residential address) at the time of Check-in. Your co-operation is of utmost importance to us.

How do we reach your villa by public transport?

The best way to reach our home is by a private car/ taxi. If you would like to travel by public transport, the best route would be:

Train: Rudanda r Murud station. 
Jetty to Mandua and Revas Jetty, and then you can take an auto.

Weâ€™re planning to drive down. Are the roads good? Any specific things we need to know?

While roads connecting to the property are good, guests are advised to check the road and weather conditions before leaving for a road trip. 

Our home is cool and breezy round the year, so you could visit at anytime.

Unfortunately, there is no option for part payment. Guests are required to pay 100% of the payment before check-in.

How can I make a payment?

Accepted Answer

All payments for booking the villa, including meals will have to be pre-paid prior to checkin. Security Deposit collected during booking will be returned during check-out or by NEFT within 5 business days after check-out, provided no damages are observed. To avoid inconvenience, we will not be accepting cash onsite for any reasons henceforth.

Please note: The Security Deposit is subject to change depending upon the number of nights and the group size. Please check with your holiday advisor at the time of booking.

How and when do I pay for the Security Deposit and how and when is it returned to me?

A security deposit of Rs. 5,000 per room is to be paid online two days prior to the check-in. If no damages are observed, the deposit will be returned after check-out within 5 business days by NEFT.

Each room is furnished with doggy bags, but pet parents must clean up after themselves. We have a water outlet outside to wash off any sand or mud from a pet, along with a towel. Guests are requested to carry their own medication for the pets. No bathing facility is provided for pets in our homes.

We request pet-parents to carry food and bedding for their pets. However, in case, you do need food for your pets, we offer boiled chicken, rice, fish, or vegetables, for lunch and dinner at a cost of Rs 250 per meal, per pet. Please inform our caretaker of your pet's food habits 2 days prior to Check-In. We do not store or serve packaged food for the pets.

Yes, we provide toiletries like soap, shampoo, toilet paper, etc. To avoid hygiene issues, we do not provide towels.

Our bedrooms have lovely queen sized poster beds. All our mattresses are 4 inch mattresses, having mattress protectors.

Yes, there is WiFi available. There is adequate network connectivity, if not 3G then 2G.

Do you have a problem with mosquitoes? How do you deal with it to make our stay more comfortable?

All of the rooms have been furnished with All-out machines and mosquito nets have been placed over the windows. Guests are advised to shut the windows by 5.30 / 7.30 pm to avoid mosquitoes. If needed, the caretaker has Odomos on site.

Does the villa face frequent power outages? Are there any invertors or gensets to address this issue?

Yes, we have a backup inverter in case of rare occasions of power failure. Guests are requested to switch off the ACs during power outages as it consumes more power. 
25 KVA, Four AC's will work, 5th will not work.

Yes. The home is located within a gated complex.

Are the premises monitored using CCTVs?

Yes, there are CCTV cameras installed in the living room, both upstairs and entrance-8 cameras.
Private bedrooms and bathrooms are not monitored.

Yes, our home has a stone wall surrounding the premises.

Can stray dogs enter the premises?

No, the home is within a fenced area. However, should a stray dog enter, inform the caretaker and he will address the issue.

Is this home child-friendly?

Yes, our Home is child friendly.  

There is plenty of space to run around and many indoor activities that will keep your children occupied.  Since SaffronStays believes that holidays are about families bonding, we do not have any TV or WiFi in our Homes. The home has instead been stocked with books and board games such as Life, Monopoly, Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis and Darts. There is also a basic first-aid kit, stocked with Dettol, band-aids, etc., for minor injuries. Parents are advised to be cautious when allowing kids to run around. 

Kid-friendly menus (pastas, cornflakes, Bournvita milk, etc) are also available. These would need to requested in advance, preferably at the time of booking. In the case of infants, mothers will be permitted to use the kitchen to prepare their meals.

Is this home senior citizen friendly?

No,unfortunately this villa is not very senior citizen friendly since there are a few steps to access the villa then quite a few steps to access the bedrooms.

Is the place pet-friendly?

Yes, this is a pet-friendly villa. 

Pets will be charged at an additional cost of Rs. 500 per pet. A refundable deposit may also be applied. Pets are not allowed on any of the furniture and will not be allowed in bedrooms. Pet owners need to carry along food and bedding for their pets. In the event that guests cannot carry their own pet food, the caretaker will be available to cook and payment for the actuals will need to done at the property itself. 

In some cases, there maybe territorial dogs already living onsite. Rest assured, they will not disturb your stay or bother your pet. Pets are not allowed in the pool.

Are there water bodies nearby (such as a pond/ river/ lake etc)?

Yes, there is a lake/ beach/ river nearby. It is about a 500 metres walk from our home. It is a tourist spot. The water body is safe.

Is there a beach close by and is it clean and safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Kashid Beach is 5 minutes from the villa. The beach is safe but rocky. The beach has white sand.  The tides are safe, but we recommend you to enjoy the waves from a distance post sunset.
You could also head to Korlai (20 mins) or Nagaon beach (53 mins).

What can we do for fun around the property?

To unwind, head over to the Table-Tennis table, play a game of Carrom or get your hands on a book or two from the library. For those wanting to stray out, the pristine Kashid beach is 5 minutes away from the 5-bedroom duplex home and beach towels and umbrellas are available for guests. 
Drive down to Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary (30 mins), which was created to preserve some of the coastal woodland ecosystems of the Western Ghats.
