Is the villa suitable for a day picnic?

Yes, a day picnic can be arranged. There is a lawn that can be used to erect a stage, tents or pergolas. Meals can be arranged for Rs. 2000 per person for breakfast & lunch OR lunch & snacks. Please note that a maximum of 10 people can be accommodated for an overnight stay. During the day, guests will have access to the washrooms and other amenities.

Can I reserve your place for special functions such as engagement ceremony, a small wedding ceremony or a birthday party, etc?

Yes, we do allow events/shoots at the villa, subject to Home Owner's approval. Meals can be arranged at an additional cost (per person, per day). Please note that a maximum of 10 people can be accommodated in the villa for an overnight stay. Depending on the event and its requirements, a refundable deposit and additional charges may be applied. Any permissions required for the event will need to be taken by the guests themselves. What is the type of cuisine served?

We serve simple, home-cooked Maharashtrian meals.

Is outside food allowed?

No, outside meals are not allowed in the villa.

Do you allow us to stock things in your fridge?

Yes, guests can use the fridge to store food/beverages.

Can I pay the caretaker some extra money and request the Cook to prepare fish or mutton dishes for us?

Yes. In case you would like the caretaker to cook a special dish, you can pay him for the actuals. Please note that this will be subject to availability of ingredients.

Is there an adequate drinking water supply? Do we need to carry our own Mineral Water bottles or are these readily available at your villa?

Yes, there is a steady water supply and drinking water is filtered using AquaGuard. Mineral water is available upon request at an additional charge.

If it is a self-catering villa, would you be able to arrange for a cook? What kind of cooking facilities are available?

While this is not a self-catering villa, guests have the option of preparing their own meals. Please note that basic provisions for the same will have to be paid at actuals and a cleaning fee will also be applied.

What are the meal charges for children?

Children up to the age of 3 shall not be charged for meals. Children in the age group 3-6 shall be charged Rs 500 per day.

How do we reach your villa by public transport?

The best way to reach is to catch a ferry to Mandwa Jetty which is approximately a 45-60 minute journey. From Mandwa, a local taxi can be hired to reach the property, some 40 km away.

Are stag groups allowed to book this home?

No. We do not allow stag groups to book this home.

How can I make a payment?

All payments for booking the villa, including meals will have to be pre-paid prior to checkin. Security Deposit collected during booking will be returned during check-out or by NEFT within 5 business days after check-out, provided no damages are observed. To avoid inconvenience, we will not be accepting cash onsite for any reasons henceforth. Please note: The Security Deposit is subject to change depending upon the number of nights and the group size. Please check with your holiday advisor at the time of booking.

How and when do I pay for the Security Deposit and how and when is it returned to me?

A security deposit of Rs. 5,000 per room is to be paid online two days prior to the check-in. If no damages are observed, the deposit will be returned after check-out within 5 business days by NEFT.

Do guests have to pay extra for pets?

Yes. Guests have to pay Rs 500 per pet, plus extra for meals, if requested.

Are pets allowed inside the room?

Yes. Pets are allowed in the bedroom, but not inside the bathroom. Guests must be responsible for their pets and any damage caused to the property shall be deducted from the Security Deposit.

How many extra mattresses can be provided?

Two extra mattresses can be provided per bedroom. Two single beds are available in one of the bedrooms and extra mattresses can be laid out on the floor in the loft.

What type of beds, mattresses do you have?

Our bedrooms have lovely queen sized beds and the bed linen is changed every third day.

Do you provide toiletries and bath towels?

No towels or toiletries are provided at this villa. Guests are requested to carry their own towels and toiletries.

Is the Home air-conditioned?

Yes, all of our bedrooms are air-conditioned.

Is there Internet/ 3G/ WiFi connection available onsite?

Yes, the villa has a WiFi connection.

Does the villa face frequent power outages? Are there any invertors or gensets to address this issue?

The home is in a rural area of Maharashtra, powered by MSEB. In case of disruption of power due to fluctuation, we have a backup inverter and genset installed. However, this backup power does not support ACs or Geysers, and will also burn out beyond 4 hours of usage. Diesel charges for genset usage in case of power outage will be charged for the first 4 hrs as per genset capacity at actuals. Our homes are environment-friendly, and we push our guests to be too. Please use electricity optimally at all times. The pleasant monsoon and oncoming winter season do not require any extreme cooling appliances. Genset will burn out beyond 6 hours of usage. So, it will be turned off after every 2 hours for 30 minutes in order for it to be used throughout the day

Do you have a problem with mosquitoes? How do you deal with it to make our stay more comfortable?

Yes, there is a mild problem. Guests are requested to keep their doors and windows shut in evening between 5.30 pm - 7.30 pm and to carry along Odomos. If needed, the caretaker can provide mosquito repellent coils.

Is there a security guard / watchman?

No, the local caretaker manages security.

Are the premises monitored using CCTVs?

No, there are no CCTV cameras installed.

Can stray dogs enter the premises?

No, stray dogs can't enter the property.

Is the property properly fenced? Is there a boundary wall?

Yes, the property is fenced on all sides.

Korlai village is 120 km from Chembur by road. By sea, ferries at Gateway of India can take you to Mandwa jetty in 45 minutes. From Mandwa jetty, Korlai is 40 km by road. The nearest airport is in Mumbai.

Is this home child-friendly?

Yes, this is a child-friendly home with plenty of space for kids to run around. There is a bunk bed for kids and a 200 sq ft upper level that can be used as a â€œBaithakâ€ or childrenâ€™s play area. The villa has been stocked with books and board games like Monopoly, UNO for kids to enjoy. Kid-friendly dishes (Bournvita milk, hot milk etc.) can be prepared if given advance notice (preferably at the time of booking). While guests are not allowed to use the kitchen, mothers of infants are permitted to heat up milk. A first-aid kit with Dettol, band-aids and over-the-counter medicines has also been placed at the villa for minor injuries.

Is this home senior citizen friendly?

Yes, this villa is senior citizen friendly. There are two bedrooms with private bathrooms attached, easy to access at night without supervision. Please note that there is a flight of steps leading up to the entrance of the villa. Upon special request, our caretakers can prepare Low Salt/ Low Spice/ Low Fat/ Low Sugar for senior citizens. In case of a medical emergency, emergency contact details are available with the caretaker.

Is the villa wheelchair accessible?

No, this villa is not wheelchair accessible.

Is the place pet-friendly?

Yes, this is a pet-friendly villa. Pets will be charged at an additional cost of Rs. 500 per pet. A refundable deposit may also be applied. Pets are not allowed on any of the furniture and will be restricted to the verandah area. Pet owners need to carry along food and bedding for their pets. In the event that guests cannot carry their own pet food, the caretaker will be available to cook and payment for the actuals will need to done at the property itself. Pets are not allowed in the pool.

What can we do for fun around the property?

The Korlai Fort and lighthouse is just a 10 minute drive from the villa and a major tourist spot. For water sports, guests could visit Kashid and Nagaon beaches.

Is there a pool and what's the depth/ length of the pool?

There are no pool facilities at this villa.

Is there a beach close by and is it clean and safe?

There is a rocky beach right outside the property which is relatively clean. You can access the beach directly. However, the gates will be locked at 10 PM.

Are there water bodies nearby (such as a pond/ river/ lake etc)?

Aside from the beach, there are no water bodies close to this villa.

Yes, meals are included in the tariff. Meals will be served in the dining hall or upon request, in the lawn area. Both vegetarian and non vegetarian options are available. However, fish will be provided at an additional cost. Tea/Coffee will be served during breakfast and evening tea time. If you would like tea/coffee at any other time of the day, it can be arranged at an additional charge.
