Can I book only one or two rooms, or do I need to book the entire Home?

The estate is divided into two sections: a 3-bedroom space on the first floor and a 4-bedroom space across the second and third floors. Each section can be booked separately, or the entire 7-bedroom villa can be reserved together.

Is parking available onsite or nearby?

Free parking is available onsite (driveway). There is also a public car park nearby.

Is Alcohol allowed? Are there any corkage charges?

Yes, alcohol consumption is permitted within limits. There are no corkage charges.

Is outside food allowed? Are we allowed to cook ourselves?

Guests do not have access to the kitchen. However, mothers of infants or young children may be allowed limited access to boil milk or prepare basic meals for their children. Outside food is not permitted.

Is smoking / alcohol consumption permitted?

Yes, smoking is allowed but strictly not inside the home. If you wish to smoke, please do so outside in the garden/lawn area. Alcohol consumption is permitted within limits. We do not encourage late night revelry or loud music.

What are the Check-in & Check-out timings? May I request for late check-outs or an early check-in?

Check-in is at 2 PM and check-out is at 11 AM. Please note that check-out timings are strict, as we need to prepare the rooms for incoming guests. We request you to be mindful of other guests’ schedules as well. If you would like an early check-in or a late check-out, please inform us at the time of booking. This will be subject to availability.

What formalities are needed during check-in and check-out?

As required by law, all adults have to provide their government-approved Photo IDs (that clearly show their residential address) at the time of Check-in. Your co-operation is of utmost importance to us.

Are we allowed to access all areas?

Guests will have access to designated common areas on the property, including the living room, garden, and other shared spaces. Guests are strictly not permitted to enter neighbouring properties under any circumstances. We request all guests to respect the privacy and personal space of the surrounding homes.

If I'm driving, will there be any toll fees applicable?

Yes. Please note that toll charges are subject to change, depending on the authorities and the type of vehicle. Guests are requested to carry sufficient cash to cover the toll charge.

How do we reach your villa by public transport?

By Air The nearest airport is Shimla Airport, located approximately 38 km from the villa. Taxis are easily available from the airport. By Train The nearest station is Shimla Railway Station (approx. 18 km), part of the scenic Kalka–Shimla Railway. Alternatively, Kalka Railway Station (approx. 95–100 km) offers better connectivity to major cities. By Road The villa is easily accessible by road and is best reached via a private vehicle or taxi. • Shimla: ~18 km • Kufri: ~2.5 km • Chandigarh: ~132 km Note: Having a private vehicle is recommended for convenient travel in and around the area.

What is the cancellation policy?

A Guest is entitled to a refund of 75% if he/she cancels the confirmed booking upto 15 days before the Date of Check-In (before 1 PM). A Guest is entitled to a refund of 50% if he/she cancels the confirmed booking upto 7 days before the Date of Check-In (before 1 PM) If the Guest cancels within 7 days of the Date of Check-In, he/she is entitled to no refund.

Can I pay 50% now and pay the remaining 50% closer to the date?

Unfortunately, there is no option for part payment. Guests are required to pay 100% of the payment before check-in.

How can I make a payment?

Once you have chosen your dates and your booking has been accepted, you will receive a payment link where the payment can be processed. In case you're unable to make an online payment through the link, you could also deposit the cash in our bank account directly. We also offer other options like PayTM, NEFT/IMPS or UPI.

How and when do I pay for the Security Deposit and how and when is it returned to me?

Security deposit is to be paid two days prior to check-in. If no damages are observed, the deposit will be returned during check-out itself or by NEFT within 5 business days after check-out.

Does SaffronStays accept cash payments?

No. All payments for booking the villa, including meals, will have to be pre-paid prior to check-in. Security Deposit collected during booking will be returned during check-out or by NEFT within 5 business days after check-out, provided no damages are observed. To avoid inconvenience, we will not be accepting cash onsite for any reasons henceforth. Please note: The Security Deposit is subject to change depending upon the number of nights and the group size. Please check with your holiday advisor at the time of booking.

How many extra mattresses can be provided?

1 extra mattresses can be arranged per room. Our home has adequate bed sheets, blankets and pillows for extra bedding.

Do you provide toiletries and bath towels?

Yes, we provide toiletries like soap, shampoo, hair conditioner and towels.

What type of beds, mattresses do you have?

Our bedrooms have lovely king-sized beds.

Is there Internet/ 4G/ WiFi connection available onsite?

Yes, the villa has WiFi connection. There is adequate network connectivity

Do you have a problem with mosquitoes? How do you deal with it to make our stay more comfortable?

All rooms are equipped with mosquito repellents. Guests are advised to keep windows closed post 5:30 PM to prevent mosquitoes and insects from entering the home.

Are the premises monitored using CCTVs?

Yes, there are CCTV cameras installed in the living room, common areas and outside sections. Private bedrooms and bathrooms are not monitored.

Is there First-aid kit available at your Home?

Yes, we do have a first-aid kid onsite, stocked with Dettol, band-aids and over-the-counter medicines like Metacin, Crocin etc.

Is the villa and its surroundings well lit up?

The villa is well lit up. There is enough lighting even in the surrounding areas i.e lawns, grounds.

Is the place pet-friendly?

Yes, this is a pet-friendly villa. Pets will be charged at an additional cost of Rs. 800 per pet. A refundable deposit may also be applied. Pets are not allowed on any of the furniture and will be restricted to the verandah area. Pet owners need to carry along food and bedding for their pets.

Yes, the home is child-friendly. There is ample space for children to move around, along with indoor activities to keep them engaged. Board games and outdoor games are available; please check with the caretaker for options. A basic first-aid kit with essentials like antiseptic and band-aids is also provided for minor injuries. Parents are advised to supervise children at all times while they play around the property.
