Can I book only one or two rooms, or do I need to book the entire Home?

You can either book one room or the entire home, depending upon the number of people travelling with you. If you would like to book the entire villa, please select the maximum number of rooms possible. The villa has 4 rooms, there is another listing which 3 suites.

Is Driver and/or House-Help accommodation available?

If given advance notice, accommodation for up to 4 drivers can be arranged at an additional cost of Rs 500 per person, per night. Please note that this does not include meals. Additional charges for meals should be paid to the caretaker onsite, in cash. If requested in advance, separate accommodation may be arranged for domestic help at an additional cost of Rs. 500 per person, per night. Please note that this cost does not include meals. Is the villa suitable for a day picnic?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the estate has open grounds that could be used for outdoor picnics. Please note that the maximum capacity for an overnight stay is 14 people and that meals will be provided on site at an additional charge (per person, per meal). During the day, guests will be allowed to use the washrooms and other amenities at the villa. The home is also stocked with indoor games like Pictionary, Jenga, UNO, chess, etc. for the use of guests. Depending on the event, you are allowed to erect a small stage, stall or tent for your event purpose.

Can I reserve your place for special functions such as engagement ceremony, a small wedding ceremony or a birthday party, etc?

Yes, we do allow events at the villa, subject to Home Owner's approval. Meals can be arranged at an additional cost (per person, per day). Please note that a maximum of 14 people can be accommodated in the villa for an overnight stay. 

Depending on the event and its requirements, a refundable deposit and additional charges may be applied. Please note that loud music (if needed for your function) will only be permitted during certain hours. Any other permissions required for functions will need to be taken by the guests themselves.

Are meals provided onsite? What are the charges?

Breakfast is inclusive in the tariff. Guests can opt for meals at the home. Meal charges should be paid in cash to the caretaker at site. The meal charges for per person, per meal, are as follows:
Lunch/ Dinner: Veg: 200 | Non-Veg: 250
Children below 12 years:
Lunch/Dinner: Veg: 100 | Non-Veg: 125
Please note - Fish and mutton preparations shall be charged extra, at actuals which are payable in cash to the caretaker onsite. Guests are requested to inform the same in advance so that our caretakers can procure the ingredients. Tea/Coffee will be served during breakfast and evening tea time. If you would like tea/coffee at any other time of the day, it can be arranged at an additional charge.

What is the type of cuisine served?

We serve lip-smacking South Indian, Continental & Chinese meals. We highly recommend trying our Sri Lankan cusine as well. Guests are requested to mentioned their food preferences at the time of booking. There is also a facility for barbecues onsite (both veg/non-veg) which can be arranged at an additional cost.

Is outside food allowed? Are we allowed to cook ourselves?

No, guests are not allowed to access the kitchen. However, mothers of infants or small children will have limited access to boil milk or prepare their kids meals.

Do you allow us to stock things in your fridge?

Yes, you can use the common fridge to store food/beverages. In case there are other guests on site, please adjust and use the common fridge accordingly.

Can I pay the caretaker some extra money and request the Cook to prepare fish or mutton dishes for us?

Yes. Fish and mutton preparations shall be charged extra, at actuals which are payable in cash to the caretaker onsite. Please note that this will be subject to availability of ingredients. Guests are requested to inform the same in advance so that our caretakers can procure the ingredients.

Is there an aquaguard for drinking water supply? Do we need to carry our own Mineral Water bottles or are these readily available at your villa?

Yes, there is a steady water supply.

Is Alcohol allowed? Are there any corkage charges?

Accepted Answer

Yes, alcohol consumption is permitted within limits. There is ample ice stocked in the fridge. Snacks and other beverages can be arranged if advance notice is given to the caretaker. This amount will need to be paid to the onsite caretaker in cash, at the end of your stay.

Do you allow loud music?

No, loud music is not permitted. Guests are requested to consider the comfort of the other guests on the premises. Should you wish to play mild music in your room, do carry along portable speakers.

Is smoking / alcohol consumption permitted?

Accepted Answer

Yes, smoking is allowed but strictly not inside the home. If you wish to smoke, please do so outside in the garden/lawn area. Alcohol consumption is permitted within limits. We do not encourage late-night revelry or loud music.

What are the Check-in & Check-out timings? May I request for late check-outs or an early check-in?

Check-in time at 1 pm and check-out time is 10 am. Please note that check-out timings are strict as we need to ready the rooms for our next booking. Guests are requested to respect the timing of other guests as well. In case you wish to check in a little early or check out a little late, do inform us at the time of booking. Additional charges will be applied.

What formalities are needed during check-in and check-out?

As required by law, all adults have to provide their government-approved Photo IDs (that clearly show their residential address) at the time of Check-in. Your co-operation is of utmost importance to us.

Are we allowed to access all areas?

No. Guests will only be able to access common areas on the estate such as the communal TV lounge, gardens, etc. Guests are strictly prohibited from crossing into neighbouring properties under any circumstances. We request our guests to respect the privacy and personal space of our neighbours.

We are planning to drive down. Are the roads good? Any specific things we need to know?

Accepted Answer

While roads connecting to the property are good, guests are advised to check the road and weather conditions before leaving for a road trip. Our home is cool and breezy round the year, so you could visit at anytime.

How do we reach your villa by public transport?

The closest airport is Coimbatore. From there, guests can catch a taxi or board a State Transport bus.

What is the cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

A Guest is entitled to a refund of 75% if he/she cancels the confirmed booking upto 15 days before the Date of Check-In (before 1 PM).
A Guest is entitled to a refund of 50% if he/she cancels the confirmed booking upto 7 days before the Date of Check-In (before 1 PM).
If the Guest cancels within 7 days of the Date of Check-In, he/she is entitled to no refund.

Can I pay 50% now and pay the remaining 50% closer to the date?

Unfortunately, there is no option for part payment. Guests are required to pay 100% of the payment before check-in.

How can I make a payment?

Accepted Answer

All payments for booking the villa, including meals will have to be pre-paid prior to checkin. Security Deposit collected during booking will be returned during check-out or by NEFT within 5 business days after check-out, provided no damages are observed. To avoid inconvenience, we will not be accepting cash onsite for any reasons henceforth.

Please note: The Security Deposit is subject to change depending upon the number of nights and the group size. Please check with your holiday advisor at the time of booking.

Security deposit is to be paid two days prior to check-in. If no damages are observed, the deposit will be returned during check-out itself or by NEFT within 5 business days after check-out.

No, our home does not face any power issues. Should there be a power failure, a backup genset has been installed. In extreme circumstances, like power issues due to heavy rains during the entire day, the backup power may also burn out beyond a point. But for normal usage, the backup power would be good to go.

The best way to reach Milton Abbott is by private car. Should you like to take public transport instead, you can hail a private cab or State Transport bus from the closest domestic airport at Coimbatore (88 km) or Bengaluru (295 km). Yes, our Home is child friendly. There is plenty of space to run around and the house has been stocked with board games such as Pictionary, Monopoly, Jenga, Chess and Table Tennis, to keep kids occupied. If needed, there is also a basic first-aid kit, stocked with Dettol and Band-Aid etc., for minor injuries. While guests are not allowed to use the kitchen, mothers of infants will be permitted to prepare small meals or boil milk.

Yes, our home is senior citizen friendly. We have bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms on the ground floor which are easily accessible to seniors. Please note that there are about 4 steps at the entrance of the home. Upon special request, our caretakers can prepare Low Salt/ Low Spice/ Low Fat/ Low Sugar for senior citizens. These requests should be informed at the time of booking. In case of a medical emergency, the caretaker has the numbers for doctor-on-call or ambulance service-on-call.

Milton Abbott Estate is a gorgeous 4.5-acre estate, ideal for scenic long walks. For those who like to walk, the Indu Films factory is a short distance from the estate. You can also visit the neighbouring golf course for a day on the greens. For those who prefer to stay in, there is a lovely space on the property where bonfires can be arranged at an additional cost of Rs. 500 per event.
