"Yes, the home has a garden/lawn area within the premises that could be used for outdoor picnic activities. Meals will be provided on site at an additional charge (per person, per meal). Please note that the maximum capacity for an overnight stay is 14 people. 

During the day, guests will be allowed to use the washrooms and other amenities at the Bungalow. The home is also stocked with indoor games like UNO and playing cards, monopoly, chess, badminton, snakes and ladder, etc."

Can I reserve your place for special functions such as engagement ceremony, a small wedding ceremony or a birthday party, etc?

"Yes, we do allow events/shoots at the villa, subject to Home Owner's approval. Meals can be arranged at an additional cost (per person, per day). Please note that a maximum of 14 people can be accommodated in the Bungalow for an overnight stay. 

Depending on the event and its requirements, a refundable deposit and additional charges may be applied. Please note that loud music (if needed for your function) will only be permitted during certain hours. Any other permissions required for photoshoot/functions will need to be taken by the guests themselves.

What is the minimum billing requirement?

Accepted Answer

A minimum of one room needs to be booked. For long weekends a minimum of two nights needs to be booked.

Can I book only one or two rooms, or do I need to book the entire Home?

Accepted Answer

You can book either one or two rooms or all guest rooms based on the number of people travelling. The common areas will be shared with hosts/other guests during your stay.

Are meals provided onsite?

Breakfast is included in the tariff (including GST). Dinner can be availed at an additional cost of Rs. 500 per person per meal. Guests will have to order lunch from a nearby restaurant (delivery charges may be applicable). We recommend ordering from 'Spice Rack' restaurant. Fish can be availed at actuals and is subject to availability.  Guests are requested to inform the host in advance about their meal preferences. Barbeque can be availed at an additional cost. All the meal charges are to be paid in cash onsite.

Meal timings are as follows:
Breakfast - 8 am to 9:30 am
Dinner - 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm

Tea/Coffee will be served during breakfast and evening tea time. If you would like tea/coffee at any other time of the day, it can be arranged at an additional charge.

Please note that meals are not permitted in the room and that the kitchen shuts at 10 pm every night. 
 
If there is another guest staying at the property, please adjust your meal timings with the host and respect the privacy of other guests.

What is the type of cuisine served?

We offer simple home-cooked meals. There is a standard menu available. You can inform the caretaker in advance about your meal preferences (veg/non-veg), specific requirements, etc.

Outside food is not allowed in the villa.

Do you allow us to stock things in your fridge?

"Yes, you can use the common fridge to store food/beverages. 

In case there are other guests on site, please adjust and use the common fridge accordingly."

Is there an adequate drinking water supply? Do we need to carry our own Mineral Water bottles or are these readily available at your villa?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we have a UV/RO filter for drinking water. If you wish to consume only sealed bottled water, please inform the caretaker of the same and pay him for the actuals on-site, in cash. You can also carry your own water bottles.

Is Alcohol allowed? Are there any corkage charges?

Accepted Answer

Yes, alcohol consumption is permitted within limits. There is ample ice stocked in the fridge. Smoking is not allowed inside the bungalow. Smoking is permitted in the lawns outside. 

Snacks and other beverages can be arranged if advance notice is given to the caretaker. This amount will need to be paid to the onsite caretaker in cash, at the end of your stay.  Please note we don't serve or sell alcohol. Guests will need to bring their own alcohol if they desire.

If it is a self-catering Bungalow, would you be able to arrange for a cook? What kind of cooking facilities are available?

Accepted Answer

No. Guests do not have access to the kitchen. You may request for special dishes for infants, and check the in house menu for additional items, not already a part of the set buffets.

What are the meal charges for children?

Accepted Answer

Children up to the age of 6 shall not be charged for meals. Children in the age group 6-12  shall be charged Rs 500 for lunch.

Can I pay the caretaker some extra money and request the cook to prepare fish dishes for us?

Accepted Answer

Fish can be availed at actuals and is subject to availability. Guests are requested to inform the same in advance so that our caretakers can procure the ingredients.

Do you allow loud music?

Given the location of our home, playing loud music is not allowed. However, light music is permitted 

Guests are requested to respect our neighbors and keep the noise level mild and within the Bungalow.

What formalities are needed during check-in and check-out?

As required by law, all adults have to provide their government-approved Photo IDs (that clearly show their residential address) at the time of Check-in. Your co-operation is of utmost importance to us.

Is smoking / alcohol consumption permitted?

No, smoking is  not inside the home. If you wish to smoke, please do so outside in the garden/lawn area. 
Alcohol consumption is permitted within limits. We do not encourage late night revelry or loud music.

Are we allowed to access all areas?

No. Guests will only be able to access common areas on the property such as the living room, garden, private pool (if any), etc. 

    Guests are strictly prohibited from crossing into neighboring properties under any circumstances. We request our guests to respect the privacy and personal space of our neighbors.

We are planning to drive down. Are the roads good? Any specific things we need to know?

"While roads connecting to the property are good, guests are advised to check the road and weather conditions before leaving for a road trip. Please ensure that you download offline maps while navigating to the property. Telephone connectivity may be limited in some parts of your drive.

How do we reach your Bungalow by public transport?

"The best way to reach our home is by a private car / taxi. If you would like to travel by public transport, the best way would be:
Bus: Regular Buses ply from Bengalurur and Mysore to Gonnikoppal. You can avail local taxis to reach the bungalow 
Train: Mysore (85Kms away) 
Air: The closest airport is Mangalore Airport, and preferred if taxis are booked in advance.  Bangalore airport is 255kms away. Taxis are easily available from Bangalore to Coorg"

What is the cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

A Guest is entitled to a refund of 75% if he/she cancels the confirmed booking upto 15 days before the Date of Check-In (before 1 PM).
A Guest is entitled to a refund of 50% if he/she cancels the confirmed booking upto 7 days before the Date of Check-In (before 1 PM)
If the Guest cancels within 7 days of the Date of Check-In, he/she is entitled to no refund.

Can I pay 50% now and pay the remaining 50% closer to the date?

Unfortunately, there is no option for part payment. Guests are required to pay 100% of the payment before check-in.

How can I make a payment?

All payments for booking the villa, including meals will have to be pre-paid prior to checkin. Security Deposit collected during booking will be returned during check-out or by NEFT within 5 business days after check-out, provided no damages are observed. To avoid inconvenience, we will not be accepting cash onsite for any reasons henceforth.

Please note: The Security Deposit is subject to change depending upon the number of nights and the group size. Please check with your holiday advisor at the time of booking.

Security deposit is to be paid two days prior to check-in. If no damages are observed, the deposit will be returned during check-out itself or by NEFT within 5 business days after check-out.

Extra foldable mattresses can be arranged on site. Our home has adequate bedsheets, blankets and pillows for extra bedding.

Our bedrooms have lovely queen sized poster beds. All our mattresses have mattress protectors.

Our home is surrounded by greenery and it is cool throughout the day. Our home is not air conditioned but all rooms have been furnished with fans and mosquito nets over the windows.

There is WiFi available on request. We also have a dedicated leased line connection for video calls. There is adequate 4G network connectivity for Airtel and Jio.  Please note - Vodafone does not provide network connectivity in this area.

Does the villa face frequent power outages? Are there any invertors or gensets to address this issue?

Yes, we have a backup inverter and a generator  in case of rare occasions of power failure.

Do you have a problem with mosquitoes? How do you deal with it to make our stay more comfortable?

"All of the rooms have been furnished with Goodnight fastcards. Guests are advised to shut the windows by 5.30 / 7.30pm to avoid mosquitoes. If needed, the caretaker has Odomos on site. 

As an additional precaution, mosquito nets have placed outside all of the windows. "

Yes, there are CCTV cameras installed in the living room, common areas and outside sections. Private bedrooms and bathrooms are not monitored.

No, the home is within a fenced area. However, should a stray dog enter, inform the host and they will address the issue.

Calamondinn Bungalow is approximately a 4-hour drive from Bangalore. Alternatively, one could catch a bus to Gonnikoppal and take local transport to the Bungalow. The nearest Railway station is Mysore (about 85 Kms). Regular Buses ply from Mysore to Gonnikoppal.  The nearest airport is Kannur, 75 Kms away (avoid in monsoons) and Mysore 88 Kms away.

Is this home child-friendly?

Yes, our Home is child friendly.  

There is plenty of space to run around and many indoor activities that will keep your children occupied.  Since SaffronStays believes that holidays are about families bonding, we do not have any TV or WiFi in our Homes. The home has instead been stocked with books and board games such as Life, Monopoly, Chess and Carrom. There is also a basic first-aid kit, stocked with Dettol and Band-Aid etc., for minor injuries. Parents are advised to be cautious when allowing kids to run around. 

Kid-friendly menus (pastas, cornflakes, bournvita milk, etc) are available on request. These would need to requested in advance, preferably at the time of booking. In the case of infants, mothers will be permitted to use the kitchen to prepare their meals."

Is this home senior citizen friendly?

Yes, our home is senior citizen/elderly friendly. 

The home has 4 bedrooms on the ground floor which are easily accessible by seniors. All the rooms have private bathrooms, again easy to access at night without any supervision. All our bathrooms have anti-skid surface.
There are 5 steps with railing suport leading into the villa. Hand railings and ramps have been placed for additional support. There is a dedicated entrance for wheelchair access.

Upon special  request, our caretakers can prepare Low Salt/ Low Spice/ Low Fat/ Low Sugar for senior citizens. These requests should be informed at the time of booking. <Need inputs>

In case of a medical emergency, we have numbers for doctor-on-call or ambulance service-on-call. The home is ambulance accessible. "
