Can I book only one or two rooms, or do I need to book the entire Home?

Accepted Answer

You can book just this attic bedroom on the first floor with a living room if you like. If you wish to book more than 1 room for a larger group, you can consider booking SaffronStays Monarch Manor (Family Rooms) and SaffronStays Monarch Manor (Master Suite).

Is Driver and/or House-Help accommodation available?

Accepted Answer

Yes, driver accommodation is available. Charges for the same are Rs. 500 per person, per night. This does not include meals. Additional charges for meals to be paid to the caretaker onsite. Upto 3 people can be accomodated.

Is parking available onsite or nearby?

Free parking is available onsite upto 5 cars.

Is the villa suitable for a day picnic?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the home has a garden/lawn area within the premises that could be used for outdoor picnic activities. Meals will be provided on site at an additional charge (per person, per meal). Please note that the maximum capacity for an overnight stay is 18 people. During the day, guests will be allowed to use the washrooms and other amenities at the villa. The home is also stocked with indoor games like UNO and playing cards, monopoly, chess, badminton, snakes and ladder, etc.

Can I reserve your place for special functions such as engagement ceremony, a small wedding ceremony or a birthday party, etc?

Yes, we do allow events/shoots at the villa, subject to Home Owner's approval. Meals can be arranged at an additional cost (per person, per day). Please note that a maximum of X people can be accommodated in the villa for an overnight stay. Access to the pool will be subject to home owner's approval. Depending on the event and its requirements, a refundable deposit and additional charges may be applied. Please note that loud music (if needed for your function) will only be permitted during certain hours. Any other permissions required for photo shoot/functions will need to be taken by the guests themselves. We offer authentic, home-fresh meals. We have a standard menu that covers Indian, Local, Chinese and Continental meals. Our Care Team rep will help you craft the perfect combination once you have booked your stay. Please do share your meal preferences and dietary requirements, if any, when the team reaches out to you.

Is outside food allowed? Are we allowed to cook ourselves?

No. Outside food is not allowed and guests are not allowed to access the kitchen. However, mothers of infants or small children will have limited access to boil milk or prepare their kids meals.

Do you allow us to stock things in your fridge?

Yes, you can use the common fridge to store food/beverages.

Can I pay the caretaker some extra money and request the Cook to prepare fish or mutton dishes for us?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In case you would like the caretaker to cook a special dish, you can pay him for the actuals and cooking, cleaning fee on site. Please note that this will be subject to availability of ingredients.

Is there an aquaguard for drinking water supply? Do we need to carry our own Mineral Water bottles or are these readily available at your villa?

Yes, we have a steady supply of filtered drinking water.

Is Alcohol allowed? Are there any corkage charges?

Yes, alcohol consumption is permitted within limits. There are no corkage charges.

What are the meal charges for children?

Children  up to the age of 6 shall not be charged for meals.
Children in the age group 6-11 shall be charged Rs 1000 per day.

Do you allow loud music?

Given the location of our home, playing loud music is allowed within limit and during specific time/hours.

Guests are requested to respect our neighbours and keep the noise level mild and within the villa.

Is smoking / alcohol consumption permitted?

Yes, smoking is allowed but strictly not inside the home. If you wish to smoke, please do so outside in the garden/lawn area. 
Alcohol consumption is permitted within limits. We do not encourage late night revelry or loud music.

What are the Check-in & Check-out timings? May I request for late check-outs or an early check-in?

Check-in time at 1 pm and check-out time is 10 am. Please note that check-out timings are strict as we need to ready the rooms for our next booking.

What formalities are needed during check-in and check-out?

As required by law, all adults have to provide their government-approved Photo IDs (that clearly show their residential address) at the time of Check-in. Your co-operation is of utmost importance to us.

Guests are allowed to access common outdoor areas like the lawn and sit-out areas and common indoor areas like the living room and dining room on the ground floor.  They cannot access Monarch Manor (Family Rooms) and Monarch Manor (Master Suite)

We're planning to drive down. Are the roads good? Any specific things we need to know?

While roads connecting to the property are good, guests are advised to check the road and weather conditions before leaving for a road trip. 

Our home is cool and breezy round the year, so you could visit at anytime.

If I'm driving, will there be any toll fees applicable?

Yes. Please note that toll charges are subject to change, depending on the authorities and the type of vehicle. Guests are requested to carry sufficient cash to cover the toll charge.

How do we reach your villa by public transport?

Accepted Answer

The best way to reach our home is by a private car/ taxi. If you would like to travel by public transport, the best route would be:

Bus: Manali is most accessible via road. 
Chandigarh is connected to the rest of the country via flights and trains. You can take the NH 205 from Chandigarh in your private car/cab or book an AC bus. There are plenty of comfortable Volvo buses that are available. The journey is over 300 km, and takes about 8 hours.

Or, you can take the NH 44 from Delhi in your private car/cab or book an overnight AC bus. Your comfort will not take a backseat in the Volvo buses that are available. The journey is over 500 km, and takes about 12 hours.

Train: This home is 278 km from Kalka Railway Station.

Air: Manali is 50 km (1 hour) from Bhuntar Airport in Kullu. There are few direct flights from Delhi and 1-stop flights from Mumbai, Bangalore including SpiceJet, Indigo etc. It is advisable to check flight details before booking your stay.
This home is 90 Minutes from the airport.

No. We do not allow stag groups to book this home.

Who manages the villa?

Accepted Answer

The Home Owner lives on the first floor and will tend to your every need throughout your stay, answering any questions you may have about the villa history or nearby landmarks.

What is the cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

A Guest is entitled to a refund of 75% if he/she cancels the confirmed booking upto 15 days before the Date of Check-In (before 1 PM).
A Guest is entitled to a refund of 50% if he/she cancels the confirmed booking upto 7 days before the Date of Check-In (before 1 PM)
If the Guest cancels within 7 days of the Date of Check-In, he/she is entitled to no refund.

Can I pay 50% now and pay the remaining 50% closer to the date?

Unfortunately, there is no option for part payment. Guests are required to pay 100% of the payment before check-in.

How can I make a payment?

Accepted Answer

Once you have chosen your dates and your booking has been accepted, you will receive a payment link where the payment can be processed.

In case you're unable to make an online payment through the link, you could also deposit the cash in our bank account directly. We also offer other options like PayTM, NEFT/IMPS or UPI.

How and when do I pay for the Security Deposit and how and when is it returned to me?

Security deposit is to be paid two days prior to check-in. If no damages are observed, the deposit will be returned during check-out itself or by NEFT within 5 business days after check-out.

Yes. Members can redeem their nights, utilise their privileges and avail offers while booking this home.

Does SaffronStays accept cash payments?

Accepted Answer

No. All payments for booking the villa, including meals, will have to be pre-paid prior to check-in. Security Deposit collected during booking will be returned during check-out or by NEFT within 5 business days after check-out, provided no damages are observed. To avoid inconvenience, we will not be accepting cash onsite for any reasons henceforth.

Please note: The Security Deposit is subject to change depending upon the number of nights and the group size. Please check with your holiday advisor at the time of booking.

1 extra mattresses can be arranged onsite. Our home has adequate bed sheets, blankets and pillows for extra bedding.

No, our home is not air-conditioned. Our home is surrounded by greenery and it is cool throughout the day. Our home is not air-conditioned but all rooms have been furnished with tower fans.

Yes, the villa has WiFi connection. There is adequate network connectivity, if not 3G then 2G.

Does the villa face frequent power outages? Are there any invertors or gensets to address this issue?

Yes, we have a backup inverter in case of rare occasions of power failure. Guests are requested to switch off the ACs during power outages as it consumes more power.

There is no mosquito problem. However, for the flies, there is a flycatcher machine.

No, the home is within a fenced area. However, should a stray dog enter, inform the caretaker and he will address the issue.

Alight at Bhuntar Airport and head west toward NH3. Follow the highway to Bahanu Road for over an hour and take the Kullu - Naggar - Manali Road for another 10 minutes. Turn left at New Green Forest Bhojnalya and drive for another 600 metres. Your destination will be on the left.

Yes, our home is child friendly. There is plenty of space to run around and many indoor activities that will keep your children occupied. The home has been stocked with board games such as Monopoly, Chess, Carrom, Anti - Monopoly, Tic tac to There is also a basic first-aid kit, stocked with Dettol, band-aids, etc., for minor injuries. Parents are advised to be cautious when allowing kids to run around.

Yes, there is a Beas river nearby. It is about 20 minutes drive from our home. It is a tourist spot. The water body is safe but guests are advised to be careful around it.

What can we do for fun around the property?

There is a myriad of attractions near the villa, which you could explore on foot or by vehicle. The Vashisht Temple is a 20-minute drive away, which also offers an opportunity for you to bask in its hot springs and feel your worries dissipate in the healing waters. Water babies and Instagram influencers can also seek comfort in the many waterfalls around, from the Jogini Falls at 9 km to Jana Waterfalls at 18 km. You could even trek up to the Sajla Waterfalls, 5 km away.  For an experience rife with mystery and a little dose of history, there’s no better activity than a cave trek! Set your trails for the Arjun Gufa, a 30-minute walk from the villa. Alternatively, you can explore the medieval Naggar Castle built by Raja Sidh Singh of Kullu in around 1460 CE, just a 30-minute drive away. The castle also offers stunning views of the hills of Manali. If you seek solace in silence, drive for 20 minutes to the Hadimba Devi temple, where Hindu deity Hadimba is believed to have meditated. Surrounded by the forest, this attraction is the perfect spot for self-reflection and peace. Don’t miss out on a visit to the Atal Tunnel, built under the Rohtang Pass, on your drive across Solang Valley. The tunnel is a 1-hour drive away, but the fantastic views that come with it will make it worth your trip.
